Moonfleet Stats and the future…
Hi Friends!
Having recently arrived in USVI’s, a long standing goal of mine, I thought I’d share some interesting (probably only to me) stats on our journey thus far:

42 days since journey began
19 days Underway (U/W)
18 nights in Marinas (yikes $)
23 nights Anchored
Total distance: 1258.6 nm

Avg U/W trip time: 9.5hrs
Fuel consumed: 1300 gal
Fresh Water made : 1980 gal
Fish caught: 10 (3 Cuda, 4 Mahi, 2 Tuna, 1 S Mackerel)
Alcohol consumed: 1 (drinks, gal, barrels, I’m not saying!)
Number of days Ive been in the dog house: 0 (lies)
My top 5 beaches: Ensenada Sun Bay Vieques, Caja De Muerto, PR, Gillies Beach Lynyard Cay Bahamas, Egg Island N Eleuthera, Castle Island, Aicklins.

My favorite stop: Samana Bahia Marina mostly because we had time for many activities and met some amazing new friends. The USVI and BVI are sure to rank equally high.
Cost : 😬 (No idea, better not to know )
This is still just the beginning!
Tonight we are having dinner with our new friends Mary and Eugene Krall who’ve lived on St Thomas since the early 80’s And recently acquired their own Kadey Krogen trawler but theirs has sails! I’m sure they will feature in a future dedicated article. They’ve been very helpful to us already, receiving packages, giving informed advice, etc.. Thank you both!!

Elsa arrives tomorrow from London on her Christmas break from university for a month long stay. She doesn’t know yet that she’s been conscripted as part of our crew 🤣. We will leave the Crown Bay Marina after she embarks and look for a nearby anchorage. We need to stay in St Thomas until the 15th as we have a vet appointment for Gypsy the sea dog to obtain an updated health certificate needed for entry into the BVI. This will become a necessary part of our routine as we move from country to country as each has their own pet import requirements. All part of the adventure. Once we have that document, we will cruise over to St John and explore for 4 or 5 days while awaiting our pet import permit then we are off to the BVI‘s a mere 25nm from here and spend Christmas and the next several months there. Now we can adjust to relax mode and enjoy all the VI’s have to offer!!
