New video drop: The crossing that made us stop and think
Reader, after nineteen hours of the Bristol Channel doing its level best to end us, Ken and I limped into Milford Haven looking less like intrepid sailors and more like two people who’d lost their minds, but gained a newly decorated carpet, courtesy of Gypsy.
But here’s the funny thing about being humbled by the sea (again); it has a way of making you reconsider everything. And Milford Haven, with its wild little beaches, hearty meals, its coastal paths practically designed for a doggie instagram moments, and its total absence of six-foot waves, gave us exactly the pause we needed. This week’s video is about that stretch of Wales, and about the quieter conversation Ken and I have been having ever since - about how we actually want to keep doing this.
I’ll also let you in on something I’ve been mulling over in the same spirit: turning these essays into a book. You lot have been with us since the beginning — through the Atlantic crossing, the rogue boobs crossing the Atlantic, every country cultural cock up - so you’re exactly the people whose opinion I actually want. What would you want to read more of, if this ever became something you could actually hold in your mits?
Enjoy the video. Gypsy sends her regards, and no regrets whatsoever about the carpet….
Sorry about the AI video picture; for some reason it decided to replace Ken with someone else, which is clearly why I’m looking worried: I’m not sure anyone else would put up with me, so I want the original Ken back.
